How do I become a member?
- You can become a member by filling out our Membership Form or going to our Membership Page for more information.
How do I register for a workshop?
- You can register for a specific workshop by filling out the RSVP form on the page for the workshop you’d like to attend. You can find workshop information here!
My district has a membership – do I still need to register?
- Yes. Even if your district has paid for your membership we still ask that you register as a member. There will be a question in which you can indicate that your district has paid so you will not be charged. Please also register for each workshop so that we know you are planning to attend!
Do I have to be a member to attend a workshop?
- No, you do not need to be a member of the chapter to attend. You may purchase a single workshop access for $50. If you are a member of another chapter of AOSA (Los Angeles, San Diego etc.) you may purchase a single workshop through our reciprocal membership program for $10. Full time students may also purchase a single workshop admission for $10. An individual membership for the year, which provides access to all four workshops, may be purchased for $90.
Do I need to be a national member to attend a workshop?
- No, you do not need to be a national member to attend an Orange County Chapter workshop. However, it is highly recommended to become a national member as well.
Will I receive confirmation of my registration?
- Yes, you will receive an invoice after registering if payment is necessary.
Will I be given access to the materials used in the workshop?
- Yes, participants will receive printed and/or digital notes, materials from the presenters on the day of the workshop.
Where should I park?
- Parking is in the main parking lot on campus at Concordia University. When you come on campus you will need to check in with security at the security booth and they will give you a parking permit for the day. Parking on the south side of the lot will get you closer to the Music Building. Once parked, please walk down the stairs and to the left to find the music building or refer to the map on our Workshop Page.
What should I wear?
- Dress comfortably. Orff workshops are interactive, hands on, and may require movement so please wear clothes that allow you to do that easily.
What should I bring?
- Please plan on bringing water for each workshop. Some presenters request participants to bring a recorder to play as well. You may also wish to bring a pencil/pen to take notes with, though printed/digital notes will be provided. Lunch is available for purchase on campus or participants may bring their own.
What do I do for lunch?
- Participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch and eat on campus after the workshops have concluded to network with other educators. There are tables available just outside of the music building where workshops are held. Please note that only water is allowed in the choral room – no eating or drinking otherwise is allowed.
What if I’m running late?
- Come anyway! Registration/reception will be available even if the workshop has started.

Can I take photos/videos?
- Each presenter has their own policy regarding taking photos and recording video/audio. Please check on the day of the workshop. An announcement may be made at the beginning of the workshop.
Can I bring a guest? Can I bring my kids?
- All participants must be registered for the workshop so guests are not allowed. At this time we do not provide childcare and children are not permitted due to liability issues. Thank you for understanding.
Will recordings of the workshop be available online? Can I participate on Zoom?
- No, at this time we are not recording or live streaming our workshops.
Is there WiFi available?
- Yes, Concordia University does have guest WiFi available on campus.
How do I get university credit?
- Interested participants must attend the entirety of the workshop, prepare and teach a lesson based on information gained at the workshop, and write a reflection paper. University credit is offered through UMass Global for $65/credit. One credit is available per workshop.
