“Culturally and Linguistically Responsive Teaching in Music Education”

Discover ways to engage your students’ languages, literacies, and cultures through song, dance, and children’s literature. Examples from Latina/o/x cultures will be highlighted.

About Victor Lozada:

Dr. Victor Lozada is Assistant Professor of Bilingual Education at the University of North Texas-Dallas. As an Orff-certified teacher, he taught elementary general music to bi/multilingual children for 14 years in Texas. He presents frequently at national and international conferences such as the American Orff-Schulwerk Association, the National Association for Music Education, and the International Kodály Symposium. He currently serves on the editorial board of Reverberations: Teachers Teaching Teachers. You can find his work in The Orff Echo, the Journal of General Music Education, and the Bilingual Research Journal among others.
